Mara Tesler Stein, Psy.D.

I am a clinical psychologist in private practice working with adolescents, adults and couples.  My approach to therapy is integrative, drawing on elements of psychodynamic, cognitive, behavioral, developmental, and interpersonal models of treatment.

I believe that relationships are the foundation of health and development, and so in my work with clients, I aim to foster warm, supportive ties that ultimately provide a safe space within which to explore, understand, develop and heal.

About me:

I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology at Hebrew University, Jerusalem, returning to the US for my doctoral training at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (CSoPP).  My predoctoral internship training took place at Ravenswood Community Mental Health center where I also completed a postdoctoral fellowship.

I have continued to augment my repertoire of skills with ongoing consultation as well as specialized training in EMDR for treatment of trauma, and the Gottman Method of couples therapy.

In addition to my clinical practice, I am available to do in-services, workshops, conferences, on-site consulting, and consultations by phone and/or e-mail with individuals and professionals who work with children or parents in a variety of practices and settings.

For more information on my perinatal practice, consultation and books, see the PiPPC page.
